  1. I'm trying to make some dvd-(s)vcd using dvd lab pro and i'm having some hard time.I've read a lot of guides here from posts and mediachance but still can't seem to make it in making some special effects. Some question i have:

A)Can i have both vcd and svcd in a project?Like having 3 movies linked from a vmg menu and 2 being svcd and 1 vcd? That could be ok right?
B)When i make transition and render videos for chapter menu, some m2v are being generated.Do i have to encode them in tmpgenc in the correct resolution and in dvd compliance? Also when i have the authored .m2v how do i link the transition and how do i link the ender video to the chapter menu?
C)I have some problems understanding the subtitle and audio selection procedure through by cloning. It's like very difficult ai'n it?

  2. A) No, DVDLab will not accept VCD (mpeg1), only SVCD and DVD mpeg2.
    B) Yes, then load the finished encode as the menu video. Make ALL your links, static images, everything on TOP of your background video, add effects, etc, THEN render, encode, import.
C)Yes, and there are no good guides on doing that bit. I've looked.
Maybe I'll write one some day.

  3. Actually it does accept vcd just complains about it of being poor quality!I already compiled one and worked.

As for the subs though i have some problem, not for the menu but adding the .sp1 subs.I add some greek subs and even though in the .sp generation window it displayed them perfectly, when i compiled the dvd all i could see were some unidentified characters! What went wrong?

  4. You have a different version than me. Mine won't accept mpeg1. As for the subs, I might suggest a corrupt file?

  5. No actually the font i've selected didn't support greek,i've now chosen arial and the subs are displayed normally, though they look kinda crappy sadly! The characters aren't only anti-alliased they are like somebody chopped them in a paper with a pair of siccors, they're all angles and curves! Can't that be fixed?

Also i made a sub menu with the options "greek" and "off",linking the first to the subs and the second in no subtitle stream ff-course,but no matter what they're being displayed! And yes i didn't choose them to be always selectable whene generated the .sp1!

So what can be done about
A)the looks of the subtitles and
B)about the nn working sub menu?

  6. Try Times for the font. Not as pretty, but might solve the aliasing problem. Trial and error seems to be the only way.
Maybe someone else can jump in here to help with the subs, as it's not something I usually mess with, sorry.
You could also start a new topic on it.
