Here's my first post. Pretty boring entrance if you ask me! Enjoy.

When I set my capturing preferences to one of the default settings in WinDVR3, the movie comes out properly with the correct bitrate. However, when I make a custom profile (I like to use 1000kbps video bitrate) the file that I get is identified by other programs as a 262kbps video and a total bitrate of 495. In other words, footage seems to be capture in a format other than the one I set. Is this a bug with WinDVR3? Thanks.

We have archives? If so can you find the one from a long time ago where the guy was asking why his friends porn VCD's come out so blocky?

Click on "Forum Archives" at the bottom of the page. Sheesh zzyzzx ...you've been here five fewer days than Baldrick and you didn't know about that?

I think you and adam are the longest active members here, besides Baldrick that is.

  10. I'm pretty sure it was how to demux an mpeg 2 file, Trossin helped me out by giving me demux, which works great. I didn't want to use a command line program, but I tried it out and now I'm using a konsole every day!

On my first post, I asked what the difference between Type-1 and Type-2 AVI's were.

Actually, I can count on one hand how many times I asked for advice. 99.9% of my posts are replies. Of course, I'll never know how much my advice actually helped or hurt.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here I sit, with many thousands of dollars in computer equipment, yet still watching (rarely) a 25" monaural TV, and even more rarely, listening to some canned music on a second hand boom box that doesn't have a CD player, with one dead, beer soaked speaker, from a long forgotten party.
Still trying so squeeze a few more kbps out of an encode, jumping through hoops with multiple software versions of questionable origin, and wondering through my malt and hops induced haze why I can only get mpeg 1 out of my long since expired version of tmpgenc.
    Priorities my friends.

OK, is there a way to search the archives? I don't see it. I'm not even sure what fourm it was in (but I can say it got a lot of replies).

Not really. You have to pick the forum from the main archives page, and then find threads in the date range you want ...and go through them one at a time. Time-consuming, but there's an awful lot of good older stuff there

This was my first post. I left out that shrink uses nero or decrypter to burn.
