  1. I ripped THE MATRIX today, then directly to divx.avi.The file size was around 1.2GB.I encoded the movie AGAIN as divx.avi (divx4.11) with VDUB with settings as 4000kbps and 1Pass,with everything else set to default. It then shrunk down to 540MB.I decided i'd like to try another encoding to see what would happen to quality (the quality by now was still great).I encoded it AGAIN,with the same settings and the file shrunk to 184MB and the quality was still great. So the thing here is,if you encode the dvd movie twice after it has been ripped and encoded, you'll save yourself lot's of space and can probably fit 4 DVDRIP's on a single cd-r! Once again, the quality is great, with almost no loss in picture quality. *Note: The audio used with encoding after the ripping process was MP3 Audio 128K 44khz Stereo.
    Hope this helps.
