Happy New Year to all reading!

I'm trying to build a dvd with motion background; via importing the video clip into DVD Lab and I'm having a great deal of trouble with understanding dvdlab's poor explanation. Hoping someone can lend their expertise.

I'd like to be able to add text and an psd object, which the text part I've invertally been able to do. However, even with a whole lot of trial and error I haven't been able to add anything image wise. I sort-of-ish understand how when one adds a rendered image for the background that all 'normal state' objects become merged in with the background, so I relunctantly linked my psd image (which is a png image for a menu grid) back to the menu in which I have the grid placed on just so that I would have a place to link it to thinking that I could apply the same rules as for using text w/a motion background (the changing color properties that is explained in dvd lab's tutorial). Well, I later discovered that it wasn't such a great idea because it defeated the purpose of creating a fancy two-tone menu grid b/c once linked it would lose it's original design and becomes a pink, green or blue blob of nothing. Grrr how right this was - and more to the truth it didn't even show up when testing my project in Power DVD.

Can someone please reassure me that images/objects can be used within a menu that has motion background. ....and if possible, give a few breif instructions. Basic instructions will be cool - as I'm a quick learner.
