Hi my first post. I am editing 2 or more VOBS from seperate DVD's then joining them into 1 VOB. But each time I have a sound problem. Sound is
OK for some part of the new VOB but not for others. I have followed some
guides from this site but still get the same problem. 1 guide stated that you can't join if the bitrates are different. If this is correct can I somehow change the bitrate.
    Thanks in advance

  2. You have to tell us what software you are using.

I would suggest that you use Videoredo.

Sorry about that. First I used vobedit and ifoedit then I tried videoredo. Same result each time. Video was fine but sound only worked for some of the joined vob but not for another part.

imac...ive been searching the forum for this exact problem...ive been trying to join together .vob files that i renamed .mpg....the video is fine but i lose the audio....i believe this is because I made these DVd's on a standalone dvd recorder and most of those record in VBR (which is variable bit rate i think). Anyhow, if you solved this problem, please e mail me at jz1276@yahoo.com telling me how. THANKS!

<EDIT> I would use Womble MPEG VIDEO WIZARD to edit the VOB files, then you can add transitions. After that, you simply re-author the MPEG2 file. (Womble will also adjust bit rates for you.)

Most people will probably tell you to re-encode your VOB files to AVI using VirtualDubMod, and then procede from there. Unfortunately, I haven't tried this.

    Good Luck.

  6. Why not just put the VOB files into TMPGenc Author and slpice them there then author a new DVD? I did this before but the were not VOBs from a DVD recorder they were computer generated.

I had tried o use VDubMod to change to AVI but I had audio disortion. Someone suggested using the Authoring program and it worked great. It won't re-encode DVD compliant VOB files so there should be no qualit loss, as far as I can figure anyhow.

    Hi,
Well I have had good success so far with a guide by baldrick titled
"How to make a mixed DVD".
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/198813.php
As I didn't need menus I just followed the DVD Shrink steps and it worked great. So now I can edit my favourite song clips from concerts and burn on to 1 DVD.
TMH I have downloaded TMPGenc Author and will try that.
Epicurus8a I have also downloaded MPEG VIDEO WIZARD and will also try it.

Thankyou for your suggestions. I will advise if I get better or easier results
when time permits me to give them a try.
