My Computer:
AMD XP3200+ Barton 2.2 Ghz 400 MHz FSB
2x 256 PC 3200 in Daul Channel
Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Alantis Advantage Edition 256 MB Video Card
Daughters Computer:
AMD Sepron 2800+ 2 Ghz 333 Mhz FSB

ATI Radeon 9200 128 MB Video Card -
Well, I do have another Corsair 1GB dual-channel RAM kit (making 2GB in total), but I can't get my motherboard to run four sticks of RAM reliably even at 200MHz (DDR400) with 2T command rate. Never mind - this RAM really screams along. As for the CPU - it is equivelant to an XP3800 now, just with a much higher FSB.
I am disappointed with not being able to have 2GB of RAM, but there you go. It's a very fast system anyway.
That's what's under my bonnet (or hood for Cap).

COme on. I want to see someone elses overclocked machine. Cobra you dissappointed me. I thought you'd be smooth at 8G with your machine in the home Freezer. :/
-
My machine is completely stable, and runs on quiet air cooling. All I have done is taken the components to their practical limit, instead of going to extremes and achieving the actual limit.
-
Have you thought of liquid cooling? I have a couple machines with it and it's virtually silent. Just 2 silent running fans by the radiator. You wouldn't even know they were on unless you put your hand by them or put you ear right up to the box.
-
I have a few problems with liquid cooling:
- Can't afford it
- Makes moving the PC hard
- Needs maintenance (topping up etc.) - can't leave my PC running for a week at a time unattended
...although I see the huge benefits of near-silent operation, powerful cooling ability and looking just so cool!

I have a float in mine. I have a small pipe going from the bathroom nearby into the room with the computers. It's in the wall. The pipe is the kind used in refridgerators for the water & ice dispenser. It's copper pipe, not hose. I have a float assembly that turns the water on if the level gets too low. If I didn't have it, I'd need to fill the thing every day being out here in the desert. It's completely contained so it won't break or leak. I am thinking of adding a small wash station in the room too. Place a small fridge and microwave in there too. Honestly, I need to buy a new house, but costs are so high I couldn't afford the value of my current home. Appreciation shot through the sky here. I didn't do the 4G CPU system myself though. Don't know squat about overclocking.

Yeah right. If I use your method, I'll fry my computer. I might have enough time to get a screen grab of a 6G speed and then smell burning plastic. I'd mess it up so bad. I'm not the best at that delicate work.
-
What's wrong with my method?
-
Doramius,
could you post some pics if possible?
I'm always o/c'ing but have never had the
guts to use even a stock off the shelf water cooled
system. -
Well, it is "under the bonnet" in the most direct sense! Let's see it!

I was afriad at first to do water myself, because I put a lot of money into it. I didn't even try to do overclocking myself. First because I suck at it, and 2, I suck at it. However, I found the water cooled systems run nice. My Lian-Li tower has a water cooled system in it now, but it and this are the only 2 out of 5 systems now. All intel. These are just pics I have. I'll see if I can get more over the weekend and post.

Nice.. some white light pics with the fluro's off would
be nice. What brand water rig is that? -
It's a combo of different blocks and the hose and fittings I got from Fry's (aka Outpost.com, but there's an actual store here). Thermaltake is the main water unit. I'll have to take some more pics, but those are the one's I have on my work laptop.
I also think it looks more impressive with the neon colors.
