  1. Hey guys. Somewhat new to the whole video processing genre. So I have a quick ? for all you experts.

I am attempting to help my brother set his system up to author DVD's etc.. problem is, in his haste he has installed almost any codec that he came accross on the web. So here is my question. Is there an easy and simple way to list what codecs are installed on a system? Whether it is thru Windows XP (which he currently runs) or thru another program such as SiSoft Sandra or some other benchmark software?

Looking for a simple way to do this. Something that might print a listing of what is on the system and where, that way I can try to determine what is needed and not needed. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  3. Ahhh! Thank you. I was not aware that it would do that. I guess it pays to really take a good look at all of a programs features eh?

Thanks! That really helps. Now I have to find a way to decipher the information that g-spot gives me. I know it sorta tells what a codec is for, but some of them I dont understand. But hey, thats me.

    Thanks again. Very helpful.

You can also find them start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>sound, video and game contollers>select audio or video codecs.

You can see the properties, enable, disable etc. there.
