Good tip. Maybe I'll finally update to v. 0.69. Been using v. 0.52 for quite a while, no problems, but remember the difficulty finding an MPEG2DEC version that worked properly.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

  4. I sometimes use DVDAuthor first, then Shrink. I am very picky about quality. I generally work hard to get movies to at least 95%, like cutting out long openings and credits (unless the opening is integral to the movie). I cut out all languages but English. I then decide whether to use a menu or just a movie only. After I work down through these decisions, if I'm not in the mid-90's, I may decide not to copy at all and go with the original. On rare occasions I have gone to about 85%.

  5. Another topic: I have used Intervideo DVDcopy and it looks good, but can't see any improvement over Shrink, but it got excellent reviews at http://dvd.box.sk/articles8.php, in fact, picked as the best, while Shrink was picked as the worst. Although it is an old test, with an older version of Shrink. What bothers me is that Intervideo leaves about 100,000 bytes not used on a dvd5. It seems like it would be more efficient if it used the extra headroom. Is there a setting that I'm missing?

  6. I tested the link after posting and it didn't work because it is putting the comma at the end into the address box. Try this:

I've had to use DVD-RB on some discs Shrink REFUSED to see. I used REJIG with DVD-RB, worked great.

Decrypter is a ripper, but can read/write ISO. Not the same as the others.
