  1. Hi to all, I just found this group and hope that someone can be of assistance.

I am trying to make a dvd that contains videos and slideshows intermixed. I have proshow gold 2.0 and it appears that this software should be able to do this. The problem is when I try to insert the video clip into the storyboard I get and error saying that the "sounds must be dropped onto a vaild slide or onto the the soundtrack bar". The file is a mpg file captured with ADS instant DVD 700. If I try to drop the same file onto the soundtrack bar it says that is isnt a vailid sound file. I have contacted Photodex customer support and they told me that I must be missing the codec and had me uninstall proshow, install Divx and then reinstall proshow. This did nothing. I am able to view these files and use them with other software (nero, video studio 6, my dvd). I would just use Nero to make this but their slide show are too basic and I would like to have a video clip and then a few photo and so forth. I would like to be able to have background music spanning the whole thing. I have also had trouble burning disk with nero (50% coasters).

If any one have any ideas on how to get Proshow working, I am all ears. Thanks for your time.

i dragged MPG video clips into those boxes and did fine for me. Each MPG clip has sound. I just make a slideshow with about 170 jpeg pictures then added 5 MPG clips at the end. Make a menu with sound then added sound for the entire slideshow. Hit the DVD VIDEO button and it created a DVD ISO file which i burned on a dvd-r. works great. I did find a problem. It seems to lock up on me during the 'rendering video' area when it processes the MPG files. When i edit the 2 second delay from clip to clip down to 0 seconds then it works fine.

  3. how big were your mpg files? I think this may be my problem. I was wanting to insert files that were about 35mb and I was getting the error. I just used a file that was 4.5mb and it worked.

  5. Well, once again I can not add mpg files. It seams that about 1 out of 10 tries (or less) I can adda small mpg file. I have tried changing the timings and this didn't make a difference. Any more Ideas?
