  1. Hi all, my question is how do i play a svcd in wmp. In one of the sections, it says that i need to install a software dvd player. They suggest WinDVD or PowerDVD. If I install one of these, how does that allow my svcd to be played in media player. Couldn't I just download a codec or something??. Help Please.

  2. If you got your hands on WinDVD or PowerDVD and installed it, you would simply play your SVCD using that player. I haven't come across a codec for WMP to play SVCDs, although if anyone has, please let us know of the solution. It would be useful to know.

  4. Not that we don't appreciate all the administrator's hard work that has gone into this site. We really do thank them for it. It's just that not everyone has lots of time to look through or search a site that is so jam packed with information to find the exact piece of information they need.

Also taking into account (apart from the time factor):
    - The infinite variables that cause people their problems. (ok, perhaps not for this particular post)
    - And also that this is exactly what a forum is designed for isn't it? Especially in the "newbie" section. Newbies as questions like this all the time...

  5. Evil Cupid,

its probably best to ignore my oppinions and just pull the technical info out of my posts. i seem to have this gift for uncontrollable sarcasm that constantly comes out when it is uncalled for.

yes you are correct about this being the newbie forum and i shouldnt have thrown in the dig and i am sure you like everybody else here does appreciate all the hard work that is put into this site.
    peace out,

  6. Just for the two who bashed the guy for not going to the codecs in tools, well, i have news for you, the codec was NOT designed for windows xp (windows media player and it does not play in the proper aspect ratio, but plays 1:1 instead of 4:3, so please be nice.

I would also like to know how to get them to play on windows media player 8 at the proper aspect ratio
