    I’ve got a DVD recorder – a Liteon LVW5005 – but I don’t seem to be getting stereo sound out of it. When I record off air programmes onto DVD they play back in mono. Other equipment in system is a Freeview ( ex On Digital) off air digital TV box which also puts out mono. I also have a Nicam stereo video recorder which I am using to transfer videos to DVD. Question: How do I wire all this stuff up so I get stereo sound. Most connections are via RF though I’ve tried some scart connections bur doesn’t seem to make any difference. Just to confuse things, my TV puts out Stereo when watching TV channels which implies that it is somehow getting a stereo signal coming via all this equipment, but any playback through DVD or Freeview is mono. Any suggestions?? Help greatly appreciated as it’s now driving me nuts.

    Thank you.

    The tuner is mono.
    Everything else is stereo (scart, etc).

    Maybe your channel is mono?
    Many, many broadcasts still are.

    In your setup screen:

    TUNER = MONO OR STR

    Again you should be getting Stereo from Coax if the station is in Stereo or Dolby Pro Logic II.

  5. Tipstir,

    Test reports on the web and owners on various forums have said that the 5005 has a mono tuner. Do you own a 5005 that has the tuner option of receiving and decoding stereo?
