  1. I converted an avi file using Winavi video converter to dvd. It creates just one big vob file
eg 3gig instead of the normal 3 vob files with 1gig each.
The problem is in nero when I go to burn the dvd it says that vob file is too big and to adjust the udf settings but I am at a loss as to how to fix this.
I created 3 vob files using dvdshrink and nero could then let me burn the movie to dvd, but when I play the movie its fine up until I get to those
extra vob files then it plays up.
I hope this is not too confusing but does anyone have any ideas as to how to make smaller vob files so nero will burn.

thanks for your help in advance...........

There's a couple of ways, but 1 completely free (and not too difficult) way that immediately springs to my mind is to demux the VOB into Elementary Streams using VOBEdit, and then author using IFOEdit. This should then recreate the IFOs and BUPs, and split the VOBs into 1GB files.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Hi thanks for replying so fast. I tried Vobedit but it turned a 3 gig vob file into 32 1gig files and it was still going. I have lots of hard drive space but not that much if I have to do that everytime. Is there any other way to fix this problem...

    EDIT:
It would be an opportune time to point out that there must be a setting within WinAVI Video Converter to tell it to split into 1GB chunks!
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. Hi thanks so much for your help.
Yes I went into the winavi video converter and sure enough in options i can split the output file... how easy was that....
I redid the file, splitting the output file and it works. I played the file on my computer and although the 3rd vob file starts a bit choppy it works fine now.

    Thanks once again....
