  1. Hi

I have a VCD that I want to rip the Mpegs from and make them into a DVD.

VcdGearX trys for ages and in the end I have to force quit the program.

If I try to do a disk image from Toast 6 I get an error message saying:-

Couldn't complete the last command because there was an I/O error
( Your disc may be copy protected )
    Result Code = -36

    This VCD plays fine.

Is there anyway I can get the movie files from this disc?

a little known (apparently) method is to use toast 6, choose "Disc Info" from the "Recorder" menu.
a list of tracks will appear, you can select and save mpegs directly from here.
I've found this to be a very reliable and simple method.
