    Hello,

Try powerdvd or windvd. A software dvd player SHOULD play the ac3 file as a normal audio file.

    Hello,

Why do you need it to show up as a different icon??? What are you doing with it???

Programs will accept .ac3 files regardless of what windows shows as long it is a real ac3 file.

  5. You need software to edit Ac3 and to open it. But you can stil Mux it with Tmpgenc and any other encoder that "Likes" Ac3.

You probably have the byte order wrong. Try switching from Intel to Motorola or viceversa and see what happens.

you said you have soft encode, right? In the encode setting page, there's a box that reads "save frames in Intel byte order". Try changing that and see what happens.

  10. I think catdaddio is having a file association issue. If im correct I think he wants his ac3 files to be associated with softcoder.

If this is what youre talking about, then right click on any ac3 file, choose "Open with...", then select softcode or what ever program you want your ac3 files to open with from the list (or browse for it if it dosnt show on the list), make sure the check box that says "always use the selected application to open this kind of file" is checked. and click ok.
