  1. Hi,

I bought a Lite-On 5006 about a month ago. Everything works fine except for one minor problem. When I burn DVDs or VCDs and play them on either my desktop PC or laptop I see a thin line (about 2mm-thick) with video noise at the top of the screen. I only experience this when I burn videos from Cable. When I burn DVDs from my old VHS tapes the screen has a blurry line (this time about 3mm thick) at the bottom of the screen. The videos show fine on the TV, this only happens when I play them on my PC.

I have tried different types of media (DVD+RW, CD-RW, and CD-R) and finalized them before playing them on my PC and line always appears.

Videos burnt from my digital camcorder play fine on both my TV and PC.

I returned the unit to Radio Shack and exchanged it for another one, but the new unit still suffers from the same problem.

Is anybody else experiencing this problem? Any suggestions to fix this? I'm trying to avoid returning it to the store as I'm pretty happy with the rest of the features.

    Thanks

  4. Thank you Lordsmurf and Canadateck. I actually use WinDVD v6 and I see the line there. But the Overscan was new to me.

I assume this would be the case with ANY dvd recorder then?

    Thanks again.
