  1. I'm trying to mix the audio from a concert I shot with two cameras: a Sony TRV-11 with the ECM-MS908C mic, and a Sony PDX10 with the external mic that comes with it

The audio from the TRV-11 camera is pretty loud, with some distortion, but overall has a nice, warm tone with lots of bottom end. The PDX10 audio is about 1/4 the volume, and too directional for my liking (ie: when pointed at the guitar player, everything else is drowned out), but there is no distortion, and for the most part, is nice and crisp.

Soooooo......I'm trying to mix the audio from both sources, but I keep running into constant 'popping' in the final mix. I've tried several different volume settings for each source in the timeline (of Studio 8...Premiere Pro just puts out a wall of noise with this method) with the same results. I've also tried extracting the audio from the AVI (that contains both audio tracks) and cleaning it up in Adobe Audition, but am not having much luck.

A friend told me it was due to phase problems with the roaming cameras (both cameras were handheld and moving around constantly). Another told me it was because the TRV11 audio was too hot, and what I'm hearing is digital clipping.

I can deal with the so-so quality of the camera audio, but the click/pop thing has got to go.

    HEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use Gold Wave in my opinion. Mix the audio to whatever you like best. Then, if you get and pops or clicks, use the noise filter to remove them.
