Making DVD data disks, burning mostly video files. Nero says my disk will take max 4500mb data so I usually crank it up between 4200 to 4450mb.
Question, what is the best 'max' safety zone or in other words up to what amount is it BEST to burn? Thought I read somewhere a while back some people try not to go past 3.7gb or 4 gb, leaving still part of the disk unused as the last X amount of megabytes are hardest to access or are less 'safe' (for lack of a better word) for storage, etc. Any good pointers on experience of how much is best to use and leave unused?

On high quality media you can fill the disk completely. It's only the cheaper stuff where its best not to go passed 4gb as that's where the dye seem weakests and video stutters because of I/O errors.

hmmm ok sounds like a good general rule of thumb. I'll stick with it and see how it goes, let you know if still any problems.
