  1. How to convert mpeg1 to mpeg2(dvd)?

I know how to convert avi to dvd. I tried to convert mpeg1 to mpeg2 using Tmpgenc plus the same way I do avi to dvd. It wasdone a matter of seconds but when I check the output files in Avicodec it was still mpeg1.

If you are wanting to put the file on a dvd just upsample the audio to 48k. using a program like besweet or........use tmpgenc dvd author as it upsamples the audio for you. Other than that. Of course thats only if the mpeg1 file is 352x240\288 resolution.

I'd suggest that you didn't do it properly then

It should take as long as a normal encode - anywhere between runtime and about 4X runtime depending on your rig.

You need to fully re-encode, and make sure that this setting is set:
    If in doubt, Google it.

AVIDemux will convert to Mpeg2 and will upsample the audio to 48k if you select Audio Filter. And it's Free!

    Later!

There are many ways to measure success. You just have to find your own yardstick.
