    Hello,

    IT WORKED!!!!!!

I was able to play my PAL Roxette dvd on the modded xbox and ran it through my HAUPPAUGE WINTV PVR 250!!!!

I got a perfectly synched clear NTSC mpeg file!!!!! I recorded at halfd1 3000 constant bitrate with audio at 384 (mpeg). It's PERFECT!!!

I authored one video with TDA and burned it to a test rw disc and WALLA - It played on my sony dvp s360 as if it was a commercial disc!!!! (of course using the mpeg audio out feature not ac3 ).

So now to get the whole dvd on to the computer I'm just going to press play on the xbox and record on the pc and let her dub....

I figure the one 4 minute video was 123 mb or so and there 40 music videos = 4920.... uh oh....

Maybe I'll lower the bitrate again - or lose some of the extra videos that are "rare" videos that aren't essential.....

But the point is IT WORKED!! I won't have to reencode the whole thing from PAL to NTSC. One realtime dub and then a simple authoring....

    Kevin

EDIT - Looks better - there are 35 main videos that I'll want and that means:

    123mb * 35 = 4305mb.... Of course there not all 4 minutes but that's a good average for songs....

    Hello,

COOL! I just finished dubbing my Roxette Video. I got 35 of the videos off of my PAL dvd via the xbox.

It came in at 3.76 gb!!!!! I still have room left over for some menus if I want.

Now the hard part - do I want to edit each video out seperately or take the time and simply insert chapter marks into the massive mpeg file???? Choices choices.....

This is too cool though because now it is already. At just under 2 and a half hours It's already ntsc dvd compliant (352*480 at 3000 bitrate and 384 audio bitrate ). I love it! And never had synch issues with my wintv pvr 250!

Happy for you. Actually not really, I listened to ROxette heavily in the 80's and the 80's is where those memories will stay. Along with a few others that are thankfully forgotten by others.

    Hello,

I guess you overdosed on it.....

Personally I didn't know who they were when THE LOOK aired but once JOYRIDE hit the market I was hooked forever

    Hey yoda,

Congrats on getting it all working, I will probably be looking to do mine in the near future. Maybe you will be able to give me a few pointers when I get around to doing it.
