  1. For some strange reason, I can't get VCDEasy to make me SVCD's that work in any player, or software players like PowerDVD. It's not the burning process, but the image creation. Even when mounted via Daemon Tools, the BIN/CUE image doesn't work! I see all the files, but it doesn't play. Nothing.

Making the same SVCD within Nero's crappy software works fine, although it doesn't allow chapters because Nero is so limited.

My question is: What other good alternative SVCD software is out there for me to try?

    Thanks,
    Robert

  4. They don't work with Theatertek either. I'd like them too, because software players are my primary target (although I do have a DVD player, which I could try.)

Hey wait a minute! Watch out for what you say with so many newbies reading! I have read many reviews of VCDeasy that rate it pretty highly! What's the scoop? Where's the poop? Is it a hardware compatibility issue? Is it an OS issue? It seems that many people out there have been able to get VCDeasy to work...so what gives? I need a decent freeware program to author VCD's, make titles and menus, insert still photos, remove original sound and dubb in new audio (voice). Several people have mentioned VCDeasy as a good starting point with the addition of a few other programs. What gives?

Vcdeasy has worked great for me in the past. What version are you using? What guide have you followed? Are you given any errors by vcdeasy during the process?

  9. VCDEasy uses VCDImager as the backend and it works perfectly.

If you can't make a working VCD or SVCD with it, most likely you aren't doing something right. --> i.e., user error.

VCDEasy / VCDImager will not automatically correct for problems in your source media files as much as other programs (e.g., Nero) so your problems may lay there.

    I hope you're joking.
A monkey could use VCDEasy. IT'S EASY!
    And the output works great.
