  1. I have a set-top DVD recorder that I use to record TV programmes with. This recorder seems to produce DVD's that play fine in all players, but can't be read by tools such as DVD Shrink and generate a non-compliance warning with Nero.

I've tried using IFOEdit ("Get VTS Sectors" option) to correct the error but this doesn't seem to work.

Is there any way of 'fixing' a non-compliant DVD so that it can be read by tools such as DVD Shrink? Or is there some way to fool the tools into thinking it's a compliant DVD?

  2. DVD Decrypter will probably read and extract them without any problem.

  4. I'm able to copy the DVD to my HD using DVD Decrypter, but DVD Shrink still can't open it. Surely whatever incompatibility problem exists on the DVD it will be the same even once it's on the HD?

Is there a tool that makes a non-compliant DVD compliant by removing invalid references etc? I thought this was what the "Get VTS Sectors" option in IFO Edit was meant to do but it didn't seem to work.

  5. This may sound like a silly question, but did you 'finalize' the disk before using it in the computer?

  6. The DVD Recorder only lets you Finalize +R's, not +RW's which is what I'm using (it says in the manual that these do not need finalizing).
