    hopefully someone can answer this...

is there a way to globally set crossfades on a series of images?

I'm putting together a photo montage, and I've imported the pics in the timeline, with the automatic duration setting, so I have 150 photos that each last 5 seconds.

is there a way to set an automatic crossfade, so that the head and tail of each pic overlaps by 1 second or so? or a way to batch-process it? otherwise, I'm going to have to go in and move everything by hand.

if this can be done in Vegas 5, I have a demo copy I haven't installed yet, and I'm willing to upgrade....

    thanks for any info....

  3. Yes, this can be done in Vegas 4 & 5. Just turn on the automatic overlap setting and set your time amount. This is in the same editing tab of the preferences menu as where you set time for the individual still image length.

I think you will need to delete the stuff off your time line though and redo it. You must select all your images at once (so have them in correct order before hand) and drag them to your time line. They should appear for the correct still image length and all overlap for the time you set.

that's okay - it didn't take me a lot of time to put it together, and it will take less time to re-do it like that than to set the overlaps by hand...

    thanks for the info!
