Well I have a Zoolander divx avi file just like all the other divx avis I have, and I am using TMPGEnc to encode it to DVD format. Every time I do this it freezes on the exact same frame a few mins (maybe 10 or so) into the movie and records that same frame for the rest of the movie. So I get like 10 mins of good video then about an hour and 20 minutes of that one frame with the audio sounding fine. I tried using the Cucusoft avi converter and that just stops the encode at the same point. The avi plays just fine on my computer... is it corrupted or what? This is my fav. movie I want it on DVD!!!

  2. try loading it up in virtual dub, and navigate to the trouble frame. Then either fix up that frame, or just delete it. Now frame serve it over to tmpgenc.

Never used virtual dub, but I'll give it a shot. What's frame serving?

  4. it allows you to make edits on a file in a video editor, and not have to save the changes into a new file before loading into mpeg encoder. Rather you can just make a very small temp file (just a few Kbytes) that you load into tmpgenc .

search the forums with these keywords

    frameserve from virtualdub to tmpgenc

its bound to come up with exactly what you need.

ps. virtualdubmod is an awesome and very powerful, simple program, that is very easy to use.

I'd still say it's a damaged AVI. There are some tools to (try to) correct damaged AVIs, but my experience with those is mixed, to say the least.
It could also be a codec problem - make sure you've got the latest version of DivX codec - Are you 100% sure it is DivX? If not, use GSpot to find out!

Actually it's Xvid, I wouldn't think that would make much of a difference. Should I still try divfix or is that for divx files only?

Daft Punk makes some of my fav music - and has a cool image/gimmic - they always wear these robot helmets, and never show their faces. Silly but cool!

I'm sure someone has - but there are very few pics of the duo without them.
