I was just wondering How to reduce the number of Macroblocks on a DVD-R. The files were all AVI's. I was reading something about increasing the bit rate, is this the answer? Thanks

Were they in the avi ?
Did you have to resize up ?
How long is the movie, and what bitrate did you encode at ?

guns1inger's questions are very important to determine the source of your macro blocks/

Also, lookie here for a decent VirtualDub Filter

    http://www.compression.ru/video/index_en.htm

Load the block filter for VirtualDub and Frame Serve into your encoder.

    That'll help a bit.
