    Bought this unit at Walmart today, thay had 10 in stock, 9 were made in China, I bought the one made in Japan? You think there is a difference with the parts, I feel Japan at least would have better QC.

    Yes the one from Japan would last longer, better quality control methods than China well that's the way it was in the 80's by the 90's things changed. So it really doesn't matter today where it comes from. Everything goes through the same QC before leaving the factory.!

    Oh btw Pioneer gear has to be hooked to a power strip with protector for spikes they seem to be more prone to not coming out of heavy lighting storm.

    I do have it plugged into a strip along with everything else.
    Only have this a few days but I am very very pleased.
    The features are easy to figure out and to my untrained eye the PQ is excellent.

    By the way, it was not a hard decision to grab the Japan made one.

    Yep, Japan the QC was the best, but I have some stuff from Japan that has changed my mine about QC. Who knows you might have got luckly with yours?
