  1. I'm using svcd2dvd v2. I have a large mpeg2 file (almost 3gig), which already has nav packs added by svcd2dvd (I don't have a non-nav packed version). It is a music recording I took from a vhs tape. I can put this mpeg onto dvd using svcd2dvd without a problem, but i wanted to enhance the audio...

I demultiplexed, enhanced the audio then used tmpgenc plus to multiplex the new audio with the original video. The nav-packs vanish in the process (according to svcd2dvd or mpegdetails).

Once I rebuild the dvd with svcd2dvd with this new mpeg, everything appears fine (and it'll play in WinDVD), but when I try the DVD in a standalone player (i've tried 2 and an xbox), the video shows lots of pixellating and the sound isn't present.

    Any ideas?

  2. here's the details (from mpegdetails) of the working original file:

    2.98 GB
    mpeg2video
    PAL
    352x576
    4013Kbps
    Yes
    mp2
    48000
    224Kbps

and here for the non-working file after multiplexing with new audio:

    2.94 GB
    mpeg2video
    PAL
    352x576
    3963Kbps
    No
    mp2
    48000
    224Kbps

(The Yes/No corrspond to nav packs, the rest is pretty obvious i think)

  3. /me slaps himself with stinky trout...

Solved the issue myself... Although SVCD2DVD reported the mpg contained mp2 audio, I had actually multiplexed the video with mp3 audio. I converted the mp3 to mp2, re-multiplexed, and now everything works absolutely great

I think i'll put this one down to my own stupidity
