Some money should be spent in geniune SCi Fi, not
the usual western/soap operas based in space.
I'm talking JEM, Ringworld, Foundation & other
"hard core" offerings that require a brain to
understand and enjoy. -

I like Star Trek too but... WOW Yoda. You have GOT to be featured in the next trekkie documentary.
What's wrong with Star Trek/Wars? They got old. Newer shows like Farscape are kicking the crap out of them. (Yes I know Farscape is over and I cried buckets.) -

I was watching the DVD of Nemesis last night, again. In the special features, Patrick Steward talks about how the movie was a good 'send-off' for the next gen crew. So another TNG movie is unlikely.
What exactly was wrong with First Contact? I think it's the best of the TNG movies.
Oh, and Rikers new ship is the 'Titan'. Sad I knowWe'll be right back after these messages from Binford! -

Comic Book Store Guy: No, I do not have a receipt. I won it as a door prize at the Star Trek Convention, although I find their choice of prize highly illogical, as the average Trekker has no use for a medium-sized belt.

And a timeline on sites I've seen online show Nemesis to actually be BEFORE some of the other movies? WTF?
That movie killed the TNG, so best just forget it existed. Sort of like how they butchered Sliders in the last season. I still like Stargate, but it's starting to lose something too.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I think it's more likely they'll make a DS9 movie. Why not? They've made movies from TOS and TNG so far. The next logical step is DS9 since they played out the TNG characters already.
I would really like to see another movie, and I think there will be many more since its such a hit franchise. While there is money to be made, they will keep making movies. Plus everyone knows the superstition, every odd numbered ST movie does better at the box office. -

Adults can & should enjoy these "soft" offerings, but when a franchise
gets weak (like ST) then intelligent alternatives should be considered.
By intelligent, I'm not talking about muppets in space (aka farscape).
I'm suggesting hard core science fiction that will not only entertain, but
pose cognitive debate amongst viewers.
There are rewards outside the Star Wars and Star Trek universe. -

Isay get off the complex story telling. go with something simple, feasable, entertaining, and well thought through. if it has aliens getting their a**es kicked and women flaunting boobs in hot cars and space ships, I call that a plus.

but I don't like ENTERPRISE - only the occasional episode - like when SPINER was on )
I didn't see that one. When did that one come on ??
and what was the story line like ??
Though a VOYAGER reunion movie might be interesting too - with JANEWAY being an ADMIRAL and all
and the prev captain yanked off, and Janeway rejoins her seat
The Undiscovered Country ...
Voyage home was another goodie. But, Undsiicovered was one of my favorites.
I loved how they had the Captain and McCoy (may GOD rest his quietness) I like
how they paired them off. It was great. And, what-s-her-name (my memory's
fading me) oh.. yes.., Awhorea (hehe) she had nice legs in that movie. Oh..,
wait, that the other movie, w/ Spokes bother gone human-like, in search for
the God (or whatever) Anyays. She still had great legs in that one.
BUT, nothing beats her killer abs in the older ST-O series. She's got ABS.
About Nemisiss ...
I hated it. I finally freekin bought the DVD, never wathed it, till the
receipt exapired, and when I put the damb thing in the DVD, it was (of all
things)FULLSCREEN
- - I lost my mind for a while. Anyways.
.
I really didn't like it so much becuase it was a little too dark for me.
(not the color) Just the movie script.
I liked Generations ...
It had a mixture of past and present in it. And they weren't afraid of making
the Enterprise volnerable as they did, when they used Jordy as the "worm" which
ultimately lead to it's distruction. This part of the story line was fantastic.
I was chewing my nail on this one. I was mesmerized when the the two sisters,
started firing on the ship, and Riker and them were dismayed at how they penitrated
their shields. Super fantastic, that scene was, I say
ST-O ...
I loved them all.
My favoriate was when the Captin explores a planet of Amusmenpark like features.
Where your dreams/thougths come to. The captain dreamed of beating the crap
out of Finigan. (and he does) I love how weard the story line was for this one.
And the them music (pieces) were great too. This is my favorite one.., though
there are many more.. (the Managery for instance) Anyways.. Finigan got his ass
kicked, finally.
Voyager ...
I loved Voyager. All of them. I love them all. I do.
.
One of my favorite was the episode where the crew of NOT the crew, (but were
from that dark or red planet where they copied all the bodies of the crew
in exchange for releasing the crew) The epsiode was where they were trying
to reach earth w/ their new warp engines, and everyone started developing
symtoms, and reverting back to their liquid self. This was based off the
first episode (I think) But it was soo touching, I wanted to
It was so IRONY because the original crew (just a minute behind) never knew
who it was all along. That one stung me for a long time.
.
There was also that Species 742198 (spelling, I mean, number)
When the scene opener was these species destroying the Borg cubes, and later
in the plot, when they go to war (though briefly) this was a good one too.
.
And, also when later in the episodes, when Species 742198 was portraying
Earth and Humans on that demo ship. I really liked that story line a lot.
And that (my green martian) guy, "Pooky" or something that Janeway new from
her past. I was looking forward to seeing him in later episodes, helping
Voyager or something. But that never happend, even though they lead you to
beleive there would be story lines for him. More clif-hangers. Anyways.
I really liked that episode.
DS9 ...
I also love DS9 too. I was such a great fan of it. The only thing I didn't
like most of all, of DS9, was the stupid script on the Prophecy. I thougth
it was too rediculous, and using it in the ending was even more reduculous.
.
I loved most of the Changlings story lines. My favorite (I have many) was
when Odo (I love him) got his shifting abilities back (from that baby blue
shifter thing) They never did go deep into this. Like, who gave me this gift.
Was it a deception from the master Changling, or another changling offering
theirself to him, or.. who knows. I just didn't like the clif-hanger feeling.
But I absolutely love this episode. In the end, I loved it so much, that I
wanted toand
Does anyone know the name of this one ??
TNG ...
I still have the original TV Guide (short newpaper version) of the crew on
the bridge, somewhere's.
My favorite episode was Tapestry. A beautiful name too. I actually
have the DVD disk for this one (I got at CC) The Jean-Luc Picard Collection
In this one, I couldn't stopand
and
and
I love it so much. I even bought the DVD hehe..
.
I loved the first Borg story line too. I thought that they upgraded them too
soon though. The way that first Borg started praying on the ship for info was
a perfect story plot and very exciting and I wanted more and more and more. But
they went too far too quickly and Bored the story line too fast. (I still like
it though) I just wish that they took a back seat and rewided to a lesser
techknowleged race.., (they could have fitted that in some how) so that they could
put out more meaningful story lines and plots.
I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop here
.
.
I forgot to mention my thoughts on a new movie potential.
Course there is always room for a new ST TNG Movie
And I'd go out and see it (or buy the DVD, most likely)
Cheers,

And say what you will - I LIKED NEMESIS and INSURECTION and disliked the overtones of First Contact (not the whole movie just the darker side of it and how they made Cochran a raving lunatic when I thought he was supposed to be a noble scientist).

@ Flan.
B5 at its peak was a brilliant mixture of classic space opera,
intergalactic politics and mystic elements. But It replicated rather
than covered issues imo. Race issues, for example, were
introduced through the Minbari/Sinclair discovery and again
with the telepathic attempt at independence. Neither plot lines
discussed the issue in depth and solutions came from nowhere.
The shadows, btw, were dead souls of the great ones. Their
philosophy was simple. An ingrained hatred of the light and
those species that had their lifecycles within it. So immortality
for Kosh, for example, was a double edged sword; hence the
secrecy.
@ Shadowmistress
Cheap shot? FarScape, like Rockne O'Bannon's other major project,
seaQuest DSV, was designed for young audiences. Plot outlines
were deliberately adbridged from the original scripts to suit
the youngest in the 8-12 year old range. There are plenty of
examples where children's stories are intelligent and thoughtful
but Farscape is not one of them, nor was it supposed to be. -
I admit that Farscape was not intended to strain the intellect of viewers and provoke thoughtfull introspection into the meaning of the universe, but I'd hardly recommend it to a 12 year old.
There was blatant use of "foul language", lots of sex, and the plot lines weren't sugar coated with the ideal that the hero is always right or always wins.
Many series have their good episodes and not so good ones. Have you even watched any of the good ones?
As for Seaquest DSV, I wholeheartedly agree with you. That show just got boring after the pilot episode. -

Though for the most part it was enjoyable except the last season when they went like 5 years ahead after they destroyed the ship - can't really remember much as I didn't watch it religiously.

I miss true sci-fi like the Philadelphia Experiment.
Brent Spiner was also known as Lore. -
