  1. When I install Sonic Cineplayer, which I purchased as part of the MYDVD6 suite, it doubles the playback speed of MPEGS in windows Media Player. I love Cineplayer because of the fluid playback quality, but I still want to use WMP. The reason for still using WMP is that if I create movies from multiple MPEG files, and I play them in Cineplayer I get thrashing at the joined parts (only for a split second). This thrashing doesn't happen in Windows Media Player. Also, this double speed playback also happens in Nero Express. can anyone suggest what's going on? it must be some codec or something, because WMP is fine until I install Cineplayer. Also, can you suggest other media players I might try? I've tried multi Codec packs in past installations of windows, and tend to find they mess up the way certain programs work. I like to keep things as simple as possible. Thanks

You are correct with the problem of multiple codec packs. Only install codecs as needed and avoid conflicts. AVIcodec or Gspot will tell you what you need.

Several alternative players come to mind. I like Zoom Player because it is very configurable. VLC Media Player uses its own codecs and is handy for XVID type files, among others. Finally, Windows Media player classic is also a good choice.
