Good to here they are using MPEG4 instead of MPEG2. I forget that DivX was a type of MPEG4.
But realistically I can't afford a HDTV anyways.
I think it's prbably to early for a new format. But I saw this coming when I originally read the specs for DVD when they were about to come out.
I noticed the specs for DVD were lower than the Specs for HDTV and that DVD would die because more people would want HDTV than DVD and also I didn't foresee DVD burner and recorders becoming affordable so quickly.
I think HDTV might take nearly as long as Color TV did to catch on.
I am no Nostodamus though as you can see maybe HDTV will come down sooner than I think.
I hope this thread doesn't get locked for becoming a flame war like the last time there was a discusion about BLU/HD DVD and HDTV.
