    Hi ALL!

I have a Pinnacle Studio Deluxe capture board, which has video and audio output.

Is it possible to directly output a DVD project, which is in my computer, to VHS? If so, how should I proceed? What programs should I use?

    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

    No it's not.

If you want to do that then why not just burn the DVD and then wire the VCR between the DVD player and the TV. It will copy exact since you authored the DVD there is no macro protection in it.

If you insist on doing it, then you can output the video but you have to output it as an AVI file.

(I'm working in Studio 8 here but....)On the make movie tab just to the left of the preview window there is a vertical slider bar and a button, the button says "Open file" click it and browse to find your AVI. Once loaded it will play through your breakout box to your VCR and you can record it.

Incidently the AV/DV stands for Analog Video and Digital Video....not audio and video...video output without audio output is kind of pointless.

    Not if you're a mime artist ...

    If in doubt, Google it.

    What did you mean?

As a matter of fact, I tried to this (connect VCR with DVD), but the output is in PAL-M (color system of here, Brazil), and I wanted NTSC.

I even selected the color system in VCR as NTSC, but didn't worked out. The DVD is also recorded in NTSC...

    Any suggestions?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

What I meant was...of course it has audio output...it wouldn't be any good to have video output without audio output.

I assumed that you didn't know what the "AV/DV" meant on your Studio Deluxe card, because it didn't sound like it.

Well if your VCR is PAL then how are you going to record the video in NTSC without a NTSC VCR anyway?

Ok, but concluding: the capture card has or doesn't have audio output?

The video has both systems, but I guess it stands just for watching, not for recording, even if the input comes from a NTSC source. What do you think?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.
