I posted a couple days ago but there have been no replies. I have the season 2 starsky & hutch box set. They are totally invisible to the computer. They play fine in the stand alone player but not in the computer. What have they done to get them not to play in the computer? Windows 98se and xp both say there is no disc in drive. Powerdvd plays the teaser for the options in disc 2 but won't play the movie. dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, windvd, and simpledivx all can't find discs. Has anyone had this trouble with any other discs? I can't even take these discs on a trip and play them in my laptop. Does anyone know how to get around this? My drive is only a few months old.

I've had this problem intermittantly with an older drive... I cleaned it with a disc lens cleaner and that helped. With a new drive, as you mention, I'm not sure, but have you tried cleaning just to eliminate this possibility?
