I just got the JVC XV-SA70BK. My POS TV doesn't have seperate inputs, so I had to hook it up through my VCR. It's a Mitsubishi, pretty decent but a few years old model. While watching Snow White I noticed that the brightness would go up and down. It does it even during the menus. However, didn't do it for my VCDs and SVCDs.
So the questions I have: Is this an effect of the Macrovision on the Snow White DVD? Are all DVD's that I play going to do this, or something like it?

Check your manual, it likely states that you should not connect your DVD player through your VCR since most newer DVD players have "Copyguard" protection. This protection detects that a VCR is connected and the DVD player then will scramble the video signal to prevent pirating.
