Hi,
I use pioneer 107 DVD-RW in an external case and connect to my pc through usb. The case is USB2 but the pc only has usb1 . Ive noticed that suddenly it would take too long to rip dvds. I run the nerotool and it shows 0.7X read while the drive is 16x.. what can be wrong? Does it have to do with dma?

Either move the drive inside the computer or add a usb 2.0 expansion card.

Hello,

That sticky in the dvd-dvdr forum has common speed tips in it. You might find some other possibilities in there too.
Though you'll be MUCH happier with a USB 2 port any way - worthy upgrade in my opinion
