I got a demo video of a museum under construction from a group I support. The video and audio play okay in VLC 0.8.0 in Virtual PC 98 on my eMac, but there is no audio using VLC 0.8.0 in OS X. GSpot says the video is ULead MPEG and the audio is Arcsoft LPCM Decoder (audio decoder), MatrixMixer (audio post-processor). The Audio TS folder is empty as usual.
MPlayer for OS X has no trouble with the audio or video and VLC 0.8.0 on a real pc plays the movie okay as well.
Is there a reason OSX VLC can't play the audio but OSX MPlayer can? I thought they both used the same open source libs.
