i've recently bought my first dvd burner for my computer. i'm trying to decide which dvd media to buy for it. what is the differnce between dvd-r and dvd+r and is either one preferable to the other?

+r is technically superior.
If you want compatibility, go with -r. -
Or if you can change the book type with your burner
Use +R booked at DVD-ROM
Because from my understanding DVD-ROM is even more compatible. -
thanks bazooka, now its just a matter of deciding which brand to buy. i like taiyo yuden CD-r's so maybe their dvd's will be just as good.

there were definitions about the 2 formats, but i didnt find anything about how the 2 formats differed. from what i read, the dvd-r's are more compatible with various players.
