    Hello,

Are you serious????? 5 dvds to one disc will look HORRIBLE!

You're best bet would be to reencode the whole lot to VCD and author with Tmpgenc Dvd Author (it will accept vcd and format it as dvd - actually MOST authoring programs SHOULD you'll just have to have the audio in 48khz).

But seriously Full dvds can be as large as 7.5 gb. If your talking about 5 dual layer discs your gonna have HUGE compression ratios. Even 5 SINGLE layer dvds would look bad.

Your best bet is to reencode them seperately.

Look in the guides on the left.

REALISTICLY you could put 2 or 3 movies on one disc but NOT 5!

    Hello,

Ok you should have mentioned that first sorry for the rant

Are these clipped from the dvds or are they the entire dvd???? (ie straight rip?).

Either way you could use tmpgenc dvd author and simply import the vobs and create new menus.

If they are from the original dvds intact you'll need dvdremake pro to retain the original menus. There are guides for that here on the left under "HOW TO" <-------

    Hello,

If you want to keep the menus use dvdremake pro and find one of the guides on this site.

If you want to make your own menus use a programl like tmpgenc dvd author that will accept vob files

    Hello,

Well sort of - I remember the thread said you have a bridge menu that would link to the original menu.

I've never done it so I can't tell you how exactly.

Just do a forum search for "dvd remake pro" in the guides and you'll find what you need.

Though it'd be a LOT easier to make your own menus. Also you could use screen shots from the various dvds as your background to make it look nicer

    Hello,

Like I said I've never done it I just read about it here. If it's too large simply use dvdshrink to get it down to a manageable size (though you'll lose a little quality depending on how large it is ).

    Kevin

EDIT - Here's MACEMX's guide for dvd remake:

    https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=646

Found it in the guides under "HOW TO" on the left of the screen <----

It says just two dvds with menus but I assume since yours are small you should be able to apply the same principle to more than 2 dvds

Like Yoda, I tend to not encourage merging dvd's like what you want to do.

    It usually looks like garbage.

You know better. That's subjective. As the OP said, it's just exercise videos. I've got over 7 hours of video ready to go to DVD-9, but the target audience is a 2 year old on a 20" screen. I bet I don't hear any complaints about quality....

EDIT: As pointed out.... I've also re-encoded both video and audio, "with the expert help of one of the forum regulars ".

I believe you can just merge them all with each other, in sequential order.

Say we have DVDs A through E. Merge A & B to form AB. Merge AB & C to form ABC. Merge ABC & D to form ABCD. Merge ABCD & E and job's right.

BTW, How did the project go, tekkie ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Yes it is subjective.

I was just giving my opinion.

I walk away from this thread.

If you compress them to 4.7GB "all the time", then you already know that 4.7GB won't fit on a single DVD-R ...."all the time":

    No idea, 'mon ...

I've never used DVDRemake, so I'm not going to be much help. Maybe dimad can assist ?

my lengthy complicated guide is outdated as the process is basically a few clicks now since it's been automated

as jimmalenko mentioned, you can import 5 dvd's at one time and then just add 1 DVD in a new project. Worked for me but only with mini DVD's. The only thing is the default DVDRemake main menu only has 2 DVD's you can choose from . If you add more than 2 then you need to author your own menu

is that what you are doing when merging projects and getting the error?

you also have to change the button commands but I wrote a few mini guides on that recently somewhere in the forums (search my posts)
