My DVD format files (created with Ulead VS7) have static sound when played in Windows Media Player. They play fine in PowerDVD and Virtualdub.Thanks

They they're probably OK. Try burning one and see if the sound is OK. If it is, it's probably a WMP issue.
Check the Micro$oft site for codecs, or Google the web for them.
