Of course you have. Just use ImgBurn to burn your ISO files. You could use Folder2Iso to create your 8GB DL data ISO files. Or you could use ImgTools classic to create your video files.Originally Posted by EddyH
I do not recall who recommended using these free tools, but I have tested then and they just work!!
I recently replaced my broken Lite-on 1693S with a LG GSA-4166B. My old NEC2500@2510 still works but it is slow by today's standards.
Besides the tools listed above, I use Nero 6 and TMPGEnc DVD Author writing tool, but the best results come from ImgBurn. -
More than happy with the SL combination. I see no or little advantage to DL so far.
Huh ? He says no such thing on the post on this thread .Originally Posted by SLICK RICK -

Yeah, but you can re-record over a videocassette.Originally Posted by ROF

And being I can get blank single layer DVDs for about .30 each, and have only found DL media in the 1.50 each range, I just switch out discs rather than go the DL route. That's just my own needs, though.
As far as disc space and archiving go, I still do the SL discs simply because I don't trust any DVD as an "archive" for data, just a temporary place to save stuff until you save it again later.

Yes you can, but for quality purposes would you really want to?Originally Posted by ozymango

Depends on what my quality purposes are. If my quality purpose is to watch one quality show on one quality night, I may just pop in a videotape and record it, versus burning it to DL DVD and never watch it again.Originally Posted by ROF
You wanna burn everything to DL, that's fine with me. -
For recording shows I use a hard drive. Cheaper than both options.Originally Posted by ozymango

Makes sense. See, for me, I've already got a stack of VCRS and more than a few stacks of tapes, recorded and othereise, so it's cheaper for me to just pop in a tape. Basically no cost, other than electricity.Originally Posted by ROF
I can watch video on my computer but I have to jump through more hoops, as I ain't got as much set up for viewing (I use my PC more for converting and editing, not viewing, still go to the TV on that). I'd like to get more cool toys to watch video with, but my budget precludes that at the moment. But hopefully that'll change soon!

You know Oz, Mr. Mango, Prof. Farnsworth, whoever you are, you make alot of sense. BTW, do you keep various lengths of wire with those video tapes?

Why, thank you. You're just saying that 'cause it's true!Originally Posted by ROF
I'm not sure I get the ref to the lengths of wire thing, do you mean have I got tangled masses of cable behind every desk and cupboard, RF and network and audio and the like? If so, the answer's a definite yes!
