Premiere 1.5 and a ATI AIW 9600XT using latest huffy codec to capture from the TV tuner to avi files.
They play back fine, dump it into Premiere and no sound?!?!? What the hek could be wrong??

Are you saying that the files playback with sound (after capturing) using a software player such as Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player? Or are you hearing the sound during capture, but not on playback.

I had the same problem at first. There is a setting I needed to set or Premiere trys to send the audio to a preview monitor or something. Not at home so can't remember where it is.

Try unplugging any thing that Premiere thinks is a preview monitor.
Edit - Look at the link in the above thread I posted. That's the setting I remember changing. -
O.K. thanks BSR I'll give it a try.
And yah Jlietz the videos play back fine with sound an all in windows media player and in the ATI player, but try to edit in Premiere and no sound.
I was capturing in 640x480 with huffy codec and 44,000khz 16bit stereo PCM.
I have found huffy and premiere and virtual dub to be verry fussy when you try to use 'em as a team.
