Audio help question, .avi file and won't play sound

hi all, i have this problem where i'm viewing an avi file and the sound won't play. I have all necessary codecs (k-lite megapack, divx, xvid etc.) but it won't play sound, however when i opeend the file up in divx, it had this message, and was wondering what i need to get sound from the avi file.

If the sound won't play, then either the file you have doesn't have sound, you don't have your speakers turned on, you have the volume settings muted or at a low level, you don't have the audio codec, or the codec pack is causing conflicts amongst codecs. Knowing exactly what error messages you get in different programs would go a long way towards diagnosing exactly what your problem is.
