Pioneer 106D (A06U) writer will not read CD-RW?

I have had this Burner for about a year..I upgraded to the latest REV 1.08 firmware upgrade. All of the sudden my 106D does not recognize CD-RW? It recognizes CD-R's, DVD-r's etc.. This just happened..I used DVD Info and it says there is "no media present" even when there is a CD-RW in the drive. Windows Explorer also does not recognize the media as well. I am using Memorex 1-4x CD-RW. I did not have a problem until now. I've seen others with the same problems looking through other posts. Can someone please help?

Perhaps flash it back to the firmware you had ?

This problem existed when I had the old firmware 1.05 installed. I upgraded to the new firmware to see if that would fix the problem. Do you have any suggestions other than getting a new drive?

Clean the lens, try different CD-RW media ...

Can you remember when CD-RWs were working ?

Any firmwares that have worked with CD-RW in the past ?

I used system restor and went to a restore point before the CD-RW's stopped reading. Now the drive reads the CD-RW's...Strange but I guess that did the trick.
