I capture video with my Sony DV via firewire using Premiere Pro 1.5 and then use Procoder 2 to convert to vcd/mpeg2 for dvd. How do you do this on Vegas 5. Procoder is pretty fast but I'm not happy with the audio. Just want to know how to trim/edit a file and then convert it to VCD or Mpeg2.
I've always used Premiere and Procoder, just wanna try Vegas but having trouble learning to use it.
Thanks
Bobby

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but to trim you just click on the end of the clip on the timeline and drag it shorter. Or you can select the clip and press S to split it and then delete the part you don't need.
To convert to VCD or DVD, click on File/Render As and select one of the MPEG options and choose your settings, as appropriate. Then you'd need to author it. Vegas 5 comes with DVD Architect 2 for this. -
From the file explorer tab at the bottom of the screen, drag your video to the timeline. After you added all you need, trim (check the manual for that), and use the "render as" option in the file menu to conver to mpeg2. A DVD template is available.
