  1. Hi,
I purchased Lite-on LVW -5005 in AUG'04 and since then I did not upgrade the DVD recorcer's firmware? My first question is DO I NEED TO UPGRADE IT'S FIRMWARE? Waht is the advantage by doing it?

I have purchased ValueDisc (DVD +R ) from Office Max and started burning them using LVW 5005. It burned 2 sucessfully. On 3, 4 DVD s I have copied my home video functions (from CAMCORDER) and they are all half completed and I did not close them. When I inserted any of those incomplete DVDs, my DVD recorder was hanging, meaning it was saying LOADING DISC and I never saw any screen, I had to switch off- and on it and immediately press eject.

When I called Lite-on Customer service they said, it is media problem. Now my question is How Can I retrieve my videos copied on these stupid DVD-media? it is so important, since I erased the original tapes and I desprately need some help on this. Does Upgrading the firmware give me a chance to read those DVDs and close them?

I would like the DVD recorder to read them and close them so that I can watch and take a backup on good media.

    Please help me.

    It is a media problem.
Try to use ISOBUSTER PRO (paid version, UDF recovery)

  3. Hi,

When I use ISOBUSTER it shows only TRACK0, TRACK1 and TRACK3 like that. I donot know how to use ISOBuster to extract the UDF content and then to make a DVD with UDF files. Can anybody please explain the process?

    Thanks so much.

    That does not sound right.
The LiteOn would have made VIDEO_TS and VIDEO_RM directories, with typical VOB/IFO/BUP files inside.

Ouch, try using Maxell DVD+R and Maxell DVD+RW for better results or the minus.

ISO Buster is easy to use, this site can tell you how to use it..

  6. Hi thanks for your responses.

The LiteOn would make VIDEO_TS and VIDEO_RM directories, with typical VOB/IFO/BUP files inside ONLY if the DVD is closed (FINALIZED). As I said, mine is not closed, so ISOBUSTER is displaying as TRACK0,1,2 etc . Can you please help me in retrieiving the previiously recorded video from that VALUDE DISC DVD +R.

    Thanks,
    WitihLuv
