Hey,
I recently bought a dv camera, and I'd like to transfer the video to my PC. Unfortunately, I don't have a firewire port. Is there any cable that goes from like FireWire to USB or something?
Thanks,
Patrick

No, you will need to buy a firewire card. They go for around 20.00 online. And welcome to the Forums. All the information you will ever need is here. A good beginning is the Guides section to the left.

i thought i might need a card, but i dont know if i have room for another card...are there any like interfaces i could buy? -
Do you have a usb2 card in one of the pci slots? If so, you can remove it and replace it with a combo firefire and usb2 card. Or if you are using an audio card, you can replace it with a Soundblaster Audigy 2 which includes a firewire port as well.
