Right now I'm trying to find a place to convert 8mm R2Rs to DVD. THe local campus machine doesn't go that small. I found out the hard way. My father gave me some of his old home movies from when he was in the Air Force back in the mid to late 50's. I want to surprise him and put them on DVD. My best alternative is to set up a screen and camcorder. I'll have to run the R2R back facing front and show it from the opposite side of the camcorder if I do it that way, so I can record straight on. This is not going to be fun. I'm just glad there's no audio on the film.![]()

Check this place out: Video Transfer Center
I worked there in the late 80's. Ask for Barry and tell him Johnny C-Note sent you. He'll know who you mean..... -
Where's the fun in having someone else do it? :P I do all my own R2R transfers. I know of a place here in Vegas that may let me do it myself. I would have used them for the other R2Rs I have, but I can do it at the local campus virtually any time I have available. The A/V rooms are rarely all booked.
