Anyone get any good deals today?
I hate standing in line, so I never went anywhere.

Just got back from Radio Shack - getting audio adapters for Skyping.

That's about the limit of the stores I care to venture into today ...what, with all the returns they're liable to be getting In my wildest dreams I wouldn't dare head for Wally Mart

  4. I had to work on the check outs for Boxing Day sales at my store. Never seen such pathetic people in my whole life, waiting in line for like 10 minutes just to save 45 cents on some crappy Christmas ornament.

  6. Oh well. I'm just in a pissy mood. Try dealing with customers who come through with a couple of trolley loads of those crappy Christmas ornaments.

The only thing that made it worth it was I was getting paid double time and a half to be there.

10 mins? I seen people waiting in line for hours to save maybe $30-$40 (sometimes even less). That is pathetic.

  8. I can see the reasoning behind going to a boxing day sale if you are buying large ticket items where the amount you save warrants wasting your time in line, trying to get a park etc but I would estimate 80% of customers coming through were buying piddly little items and saving less than a dollar.

You're right. In the US, we call the day after Christmas sales.
    Hello.

Crap. I was going to head down to CompUSA today, but I thought it was going to be crowded, so I passed. It's sale Sunday+day after Christmas. We went to Ala Moana and it was insane. NO PARKING. I went to the Apple Store, to buy a FM transmitter for my ipod. It was damn packed in there, too.

Yes it can, Boxing Day (or St. Stephen's Day in Ireland) was on Sunday. However as Christmas Day & Boxing Day fell at the weekend, office workers get Monday and Tuesday off instead. I'm in work today, but off the rest of the week, back in on New Year's Day though.
