  1. Hi, I have pretty much wmv-files on my pc, but I'm hesitating to burn them like that, because they wouldn't be able to be read by a dvd-recoreder/divx-player I might buy in the future (don't really know which and when, but whatever).
So my question: What format should I convert them to if I want to be able to play them later on, when I buy one of those players? and is there a big difference in size/quality when I would convert them to Divx (which one by the way?)

    thx

Keep them as WMv until you know what player you'll get.
Converting to anything now, only means you might have to reencode again, and every reencode means reduction of quality. Store your WMVs as data files on DVD if you want to free up harddrive space.

  4. I agree with Mats except for one thing. I'd keep what
you already have as WMVs and choose xvid/Divx/WM9
for new material from now on.
