    I mean, can i dub a VHS tape and convert that signal to digital on the fly through the firewire port ?

    or do i have to record to miniDV first to do that ?, i'm a little confused about this.

    i'm planning to buy an ADVC-100, that i want to used with VHS tapes only, and i don't know if it's better to use the (ADVC) or this (JVC VHS)

    See if DVIO can take the DV from your VCR. It should have no problems and it is free.
