Hi,
I have a Toshiba RD-XS32 HD/DVD-RAM recorder. I record HBO programs on DVD-RAM since HBO has the "record once" restriction and only records to DVD-RAM. I had hoped to then transfer to my PC and then burn back to a DVD-R. However, I have just had the same problem with a couple of recordings. It plays fine on the original DVD-RAM in the Toshiba, but playing the DVD-RAM in my PC drive (or copying from it to the HD) doesn't work. It starts playing then freezes (weird color blocks, etc.) after about a minute and a half. If burned to a DVD-R it does this in the Toshiba too.
Any ideas on why this is happening? Is there a problem with the DVD-RAM maybe, need to do physical format on it? I think I'll try that. Hopefully I can get around this.
Thanks.
