  1. yes i am very new at making dvds, and i have a ?. when i convert my movies to dvd format it puts it into vob files and when i burn them it shows all of the vob files. i need to know if there is a way of putting all of the vob files together to make on. i would really be greatful if some one can tell me if it can be done and if so how. [/i]

    Why? VOBs shouldn't be > 1 GB (DVD video file system limit, I think). Your next step should be to burn VIDEO_TS with all the stuff inside (+ the AUDIO_TS folder) to a DVD

    I agree with Mats. DVD format has always been to create sequential 1-gig VOBs. It's a normal process. The only time I can think of you'd ever want to merge VOB files is because you want to edit the movie "as a whole" as opposed to parts ... or perhaps to convert DVD files into another format. In any case, if you want to create a great big VOB file out of smaller VOBs, you should use VOBmerge. I've used it before in the process of converting a PAL DVD to NTSC.

    I think the problem here is either the way you're burning them, the way you're playing them, or possibly both.

    Are you playing them back on a computer, or on a settop DVD player ?

  5. i think i know how to do the burn process of the vob files. i found a guide on how to use nero.i just have one problem now with nero. it got to 60 percent and it has been there for the last 30 mins and will not go any further.can you tell me what could be causing that.

    bad media
    burner needs new firmware
    hd interruption
    burn speed too fast

    try simulation first
